GGG VS MARTIROSYAN LIVE STREAM HBO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING FIGHT,DATE,START TIME,TV CHANEL

It’s been a tumultuous road for Fight is GGG vs Martirosyan to Saturday night when he makes his 2018 debut and defends his WBA and WBC middleweight titles against late replacement Vanes Martirosyan at the Stubhub Center in Carson, CA.Golovkin vs Martirosyan

His IBF title will not be on the line as the sanctioning body didn’t approve Martirosyan as an opponent.

Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) was originally scheduled to once again fight Canelo Alvarez following their controversial draw in September. Alvarez ended up failing random drug tests in February and ultimately withdrew from the fight.

The unified middleweight champion still wanted to compete on May 5, but options were limited due to the short notice. Talks with Spike O’Sullivan fell through after the Irishman wasn’t happy with the money. Demetrius Andrade, Billy Joe Saunders and Jaime Munguia surfaced as possible replacements, but Golovkin ended up settling on Martirosyan.

Martirosyan (36-3-1, 21 KOs) will be coming up from junior middleweight and fighting at middleweight for the first time in his career. He comes not having fought in almost two years and lost two of his last three fights, to Erislandy Lara and Jermell Charlo.

A win by Golovkin and he will tie Bernard Hopkins for most consecutive middleweight title defenses at 20.

While not the most ideal situation, this is the best-case scenario considering the circumstances, and we still get to see one of the biggest names in the sport.

After struggling at lightweight back in September versus Luis Rojo, Martin looked much stronger versus Luis Eduardo Florez on March 27th scoring a third round stoppage at the Avalon in Hollywood, California.

“I sent out letters last week notifying the world sanctioning bodies that Ryan plans to campaign as a junior welterweight. While we wait for them to recognize his transition into the new division, he will stay active by returning on the Golovkin undercard,”explained Van Newhouse.

“Most importantly, I just want Ryan to stay active and continue to develop some new skills while being under the watchful eye of Abel Sanchez. If Ryan’s progressing in the gym, my job gets much easier on planning bigger things with Tom. We are working on some big stuff for him in the fall”.

Ceballo made his pro debut on that same card at the Avalon which was staged by 360 Promotions. Ceballo stopped Luis Longoria in one

Van Newhouse stated,”Brian is just anxious to get back under the bright lights. I’m not sure he understands the magnitude of how big the shows are just yet, but he was very impressed with his debut in Hollywood. He’s in for a special treat being able to fight underneath Gennady and in front of the HBO executives.

“When you look at Ryan’s development early on he was afforded the same opportunities. I sat ringside with Peter Nelson(of HBO Sports) when Ryan made his pro-debut. I made it a big priority for him to get big exposure and be apart of some of the sports best attractions. Few prospects get to develop in such a way. These kids will have a bright future.”
